Hi my tsh is now 0.089 and lower lab range is 0.270 lm hopeless at maths and can't understand how much of a difference it is... Would it be 0 270 minus 0.089?
Understanding the maths...: Hi my tsh is now... - Thyroid UK
Understanding the maths...
Yes. 0.089 is lower than 0.2.
0.2 - 0.089 = 0.181
So you are 0.181 under range.
However the question is what meds are you on and how do you feel?
Some people (like myself) function better with a suppressed TSH.
Ok lol Ty, I'm on 100mcgs Levo.. I don't feel hyper my ft4 is just a I've range 24.2 top range us 22.0 and ft3 is 4. I've forgot top of range is 6.3 ish, havnt got exact figures close by havnt seen gp yet these are private blood results and don't want Levo reduced tbh ! 4 years spent on 50mcgs with no thyroid I do not want to go back there again! X
Oh dear. Well I can't read tests results well so will leave it to some other lovely knowledgable person on this forum to help you.
A low or suppressed TSH does not mean you are 'hyper' or over-medicated. On its own it is a useless test. It's the FT3 that counts, and it would appear that that could even be higher. You're probably Under-medicated if anything.
Unfortunately, most doctors just go by the TSH, and given yours, it's possible that your doctor might want to reduce your hormone. But doctors are supposed to be guides, not dictators, so it that happens, just explain to him that you feel better on that dose, and do not wish to lower it.
Hi Goose, I would like to just let you know i managed to get my First 50mg of Thyroxine down today So i hope it continues as i am so so tired all the time. Its taken many attemps so fingers crossed. Thanks to you clutter and another beani on here i am going to continue to get copy of my blood results in the future as i am trying to understand them. .So Thank you all.x
That's great, Beanie! I hope you feel better soon. And don't forget, if there's anything you Don't understand, there's always someone on here that will!
Omg to day as been the worse day....Took
My 50mg and all i have done is be sick then fall asleep wake up be sick and fall asleep.. Not sure if the damage is done as i have been off my
Thyroxine since 18th January?????
Drinking water and thats not staying down.
Well, that might just be a coincidence, Beanie. I've never heard of anyone reacting to levo like that. You may just have a stomach bug or something. Try taking 25 tomorrow, and see how it goes. Do you have any other symptoms? Fever or anything?
Hot yes... i don't have 25mg as had trouble getting them to stay down so Dr gave me 50mg Friday. ...I'm just having trouble full stop with them like having a mental block with them. So the one i took earlier not sure it as stayed down....As been sick since taken
It.
You could always cut a tablet in half. It might not be very accurate, but at this stage, I Don't think it matters very much. The important thing is that you just get back into the habit of taking them. And, if you have any vit C, take that with it. That will help absorbtion.
Or, on the other hand, you could wait and see if this 'virus' clears up, and then start taking them. And while you're waiting for it to clear up, try and psych yourself up for taking them. And you could still take the vit C, while you're waiting, because that would help get rid of the 'virus'.
Get a ruler.
Draw a line.
Make marks at:
* one end of the ruler - the zero mark;
* the number of your result
* and the numbers of the reference range.
(It doesn't matter whether the ruler is in centimetres, inches, Chinese inches or anything else. So long as the numbers fit onto your ruler and paper. Use a different mark for your result to the top and bottom of reference range.)
You should now be able to visualise your result without having to play about adding, subtracting, etc.
If you only use TSH as a guide..you will remain ill.
