Is it unusual to have an increase from 0.49 to 1.65 THS in eight months?

Not sure as mine was 3.5 but should be between 10.00-23.00 ! Mine is not normal at 3.5 it's too low .

Beani, 10.00-23.00 looks like the range for FT4. TSH range is something like 0.35-5 or 6. 3.5 is too high not too low.

Your body's output will differ, particularly at certain times of the day. Your TSH will be at its highest early morning, 3- 4 ish .a.m.

Always have your blood drawn at roughly the same time of day, e.g. 8/8.30am is the best time.

Helen, that fluctuation can occur during a day. TSH follows circadian rhythms being highest in the early hours and lowest around 13.00 which is why it is advised to have thyroid bloods taken at the same time of day when testing. See the graph in this link healthunlocked.com/thyroidu...
