What has your Dr said about it? TSH over 10 is fairly conclusively Hypothyroid. I'm very surprised that you're not getting any symptoms at that level. Check out Thyroid UK's list of symptoms and see if you tick any off. thyroiduk.org.uk/tuk/about_...

Have you had an illness recently? There are circumstances where the TSH is temporarily raised after illness. You may need to have it checked again in a couple of months.

If you are hypo, you will need it treating because there are long term health consequences if it isn't.

I agree that you should check out Winegum2's link and see if you have any of the classic symptoms.

I had a TSH of 27 when my GP did a routine blood test. Probably explained all the "things" that were not right with me from skin problems to depression and severe anxiety amongst other things which I had going on for a few years and just put it down to getting older/menopause! To be honest I think I just got used to the symptoms and accepted it is just part of Life.

I now know better.

I also am hugely lucky to have a GP who wants to treat me holisitically and not just what the blood results are. It's a long drawn out process but slowly making progress.

Wish you well and try not to worry too much. Keep in contact if you feel down or worried, there are some wonderfully knowledgeable and supportive folks here.

Welcome to the forum, Allahuakbar.

TSH >10 is considered overtly hypothyroid. TSH >10 is not imminently dangerous but can cause considerable health problems if left untreated and research shows that TSH >20 impairs driving reactions more than being over the drink drive limit. Has your doctor prescribed Levothyroxine and ordered follow up tests for FT4 and FT3?
