I have been told my thyroid is going inactive but hasn't yet. My symptoms point to it being under active but the levels are not low enough at the moment. My symptoms are worse during different times of the day and my levels are always different. Waiting to see the consultant now as i asked for another appoint before he signed me off. Any advice please.

Hi,
What you have to do is get a print-out of your blood test results, with the ranges and post them (on a new question if you don't already have them).
Members will then be in a position to comment.
Tsh 2.56 and free t4 10.00. Just been told I could have Isolated TSH deficiency and been prescribed 25 mcg or levothyrixine with blood tests booked every two months for the next 6 months to see if it raises by free t4.
At least you've been given a dose of levo but it is extremely small I doubt it will do much for you. If you still feel unwell in about 5 weeks make an appointment for the sixth week as that's what is usual. Unless she raises the 25mcg I cannot see how it would raise your Free T4. I would ask her to check your Free T3 as that's the most important of the Frees.
Hi Donz, I have suffered for years all the while being told I was only 'developing' an under active thyroid. It was left at that. Now, it's been found I have antibodies, so I would suggest to you, to perhaps ask your doctor, if they have not already done so, to run the Antibodies blood test. Considering your feeling the way you are, there's no harm in checking.
