Well, we could have told them that!
At last! A definition of 'normal'!: Well, we... - Thyroid UK
At last! A definition of 'normal'!
Well, we don't have to be a genius - do we. We knew that long before they did an analysis.
Statistically normal, not necessarily normal for you
Well done Grey
Thank you, Mauds. But I didn't actually do anything.
Aahhhhhh......but you did GG.....you made us smile. Win!
Is this graph connected to anything in particular ? Would like to forward a link - if possible - to a couple of people I know !
You've just reminded me, Marz, I forgot to put the link that goes with it! My bad. I'll do it now...
Oh, OK, there isn't a link. It just says this :
'Think about this picture when next time your Dr tells you that you have "normal" results.
As a Naturopath Practitioner, I and all holistic healers, look at "optimal" levels because normal doesn't mean good!
So, it's not for anything specific, just in general.'
I love that. The GPs at my surgery must use that phrase 'within normal range' in their sleep, they say it that often.
I love that. It did brighten my morning. I'd love to print it off on a load of fliers and stick them on the back of every toilet cubicle door in every surgery and hospital around the country. I'm sure the 'you're results are normal' comment doesn't just apply to people with thyroid problems. 😊
No, I'm sure it doesn't just apply to us. And that's a lovely idea! Wonder if you'd get away with it... lol
Never did understand statistics but should the figures not be 2.5% ?
Well, you couldn't not understand them less than me! I have no idea. lol
And that's showing a normal distribution when we all know that TSH, for example, is skewed. The "abnormal" ends are what the lab/statistician decides they are - 5%, 2.5% whatever.
