Oh, fion, 'just slightly over'. You need not worry then as he asked if you wanted to up the dose.

It is certainly a 'do it yourself' so ask if he will add some T3 instead of increasing levo (if you're on it).

Email louise.warvill@thyroiduk.org and highlight question 6 and send him a copy of the whole article referring to Q.6 wherein it will tell him what your TSH should be. You must feel awful. We have to educate doctors. I have no idea how they get trained, it's certainly missing from their tutorials considering that it has such a devastating effect on us. Only hyperthyroid and hypothyroid should be Endocrinologists or doctors or their families who don't get well who should give us advice.

Oh wow Fion -hmmm am guessing this is not a medical problem he has to deal with himself personally or he wouldn't be saying 'slightly'!!! you must feel rubbish! Poor you :( I would say to him yes please to the increase and insist it is reviewed again after 6 weeks -you probably will need a further increase -and that will need to be T3. Honestly don't you just despair -clear who is the ignorant one and who is getting the salary!!

Breathe deep......and hold your nerve!!!! When you go back show him Dr Tofts article -might make him sit up straight.....

Good luck! Let us know how you go on...
