hypothyroidism , dry mouth and night sweats

Hi,

I was diagnosed with Hypo Thyroid over an ago. I have noticed that my mouth dries up while I am sleeping and I sweat at night (occasionally). I am a female of age 33.

Any one else with such an experience?

I think that is quite common with hypothyroidism. If you have had a recent blood test for your thyroid gland, ask for a print-out with the ranges and post on a new question. Maybe you need a small increase in medication. If not, ask for a new blood test, not having taken levothyroxine before it and having test as early as possible.

Shamila, my thyroid surgeon recommended BioXtra mouth moisturising gel for the the intermittent night time mouth dryness I get. It's worked well for me when I've needed it.

Shamila, you can buy it over the counter from your pharmacy, although mine had order it in for me, I think it was £7.95 for quite a large tube. If it works for you, you may be able to get your GP or dentist to prescribe it.

Yes, I had my hypothyroid under control but lately I'm waking in the night with rapid pounding pulse, sweating sometimes makes me so anxious that then I will have diahera . My doctor told my to skip my mess a few days in case it's going hyper but it is still happening. Also dry mouth.

Hi yes I have been experiencing a very dry mouth at night,also bad sweats.I have had these for a long time had mouth sprays off my doctor monthly,and only now after another blood test, have the detected an irregularity in my thyroid. Now have to wait 3 months for another blood test,to verify this!
