have recently found out my tgab is 412 so phoned my local hospital (where i work as a nurse) to find out what local ranges were. the endocrine secretary i spoke to said an endo would only see someone if condition was severe. i told her thats not what i was asking i just wanted to know what range they work on but she didnt seem sure who i should speak to so i just left it. luckily some-one has answered my question on HU.

I am glad you had an earlier response to your question. I don't think many people know what the ranges are although if you worked in Endocrinology you may have picked up a few hints.

The problem is that so many hospitals have different types of machines which analyse blood differently, so therefore we always have to ask for the ranges. It would be easier if they were all the same.

Joyce, you need to ring the Pathology lab for the ranges.

Joyce, I don't think it's in their remit.
