Winegum, it's low in my view. The 'replete' range in my area is 75-200 with possible toxicity >250. I was vitD deficient last year and had loading doses and maintenance doses until I retested at >100. I stopped supplementing for 6 weeks and had a recurrence of knee and hip joint pain. Resumed supplementing in March at 5,000iu and pain resolved in a few weeks. I'll retest in Dec.
The above link will take you to a Canadian/American website where there is a chart showing you how to dose according to your results. The measurement is different - so divide your result by 2.5 and I think it will be around 20. You need to be around 60 at least - so taking 4000/5000 IU's daily with fat containing foods should bring you up to speed.
It's an interesting website so have a look around.....
Hi You would benefit from some vit D bug only if your corrected calcium is in ange. This is essentail as D can make it rise and it is n electrolyte so must always be in range.

Hi Jackie, Thanks for that. My calcium seems fine at 2.4 mmol/l. I don't know the range I'm afraid.
Different labs use different tests. Every lab will provide the average and a small range on either side where you will be to.d you are normal.BUT just like thyroid tests your normal may be my low to vica versa.
Perhaps younshould begin by aiming for your labs normal for a few months and see how you feel
Then take more Vit D or less. It takes about 3 months to feel any change...
Hope this is helpful
