Endocrinologist, my hero.

Endocrinologist visit yesterday was amazing.

He has written to my Neurologist about my Parkinsons and for me to get an appointment. Last appointment February.

He has written to my GP about my carpel tunnel wrist and looked pretty disgusted that the muscles in that arm have wasted through lack of use. He has told my GP to make me an appointment with an osteopath.

Then he has told me to try stopping the 5mg Carbimazole for 4 weeks until the next blood test to see how I get on.

I left the hospital feeling as if at last I wasn't just put on the scrap heap because of my age. Someone listened, someone accepted I still had a brain, still had hopes and dreams. Still wanted to live as long and pain free as possible.

I left him feeling more positive than I have felt in ages.

My son came with me and gave me lots of support, bless him!

Really happy to hear how well you got on. I had one great consultation like that and I left feeling like I was walking on air so I know exactly how you feel

A good consultation is very uplifting, Cicely. I'm glad you had a human being treating you with respect and concern. Nice that your son was able to support you, too. I hope you have a long remission, Cicely, I know you've not felt right on Carbimazole recently.

The CPS should clear up when your thyroid is treated properly.

Not sure if that always happens, having had carpal tunnel for several years and supposedly correct levels of thyroxine. I would say however that mine used to be much worse but with yoga and good diet it seems to hardly bother me at present. Paleo type diet seems to has such a beneficial effect on so many problems.

It is great when you have a good consultation and that the person is encouraging and gives you hope that you will get a lot better.

I hope you improve as soon as possible.

Thank youe

Thank you everyone for your replies. I think I was happy that at long last someone was interested enough to listen, then respond by contacting my GP and neurologist to make sure I was treated correctly.

There are some caring doctors out there thank goodness. :-) Cicely

Has anyone checked your Vitb12,Vit d ,iron, homocysteine ,folate, levels.Vit b12 level should be >500 if you eat meat.My neuro thought I had carpel tunnel too but was wrong nerve conduction tests showed major nerve damage in L arm thanks to late diagnosis of Vit b 12.I have numb feet ,memory & hearing loss ,fatigue ,plus each night have tremors.Holistic Gp diagnosed Vit b12 defeciency with genetic mutation MTHFR ,low cortisol ,liver & gut inflammation.Mind you I had seen 7 specialists .not 1 had picked it up.I was taking thyroxin but became thyrotoxic.Google "Could it be B12" my lifesaving book. Hi, would you mind saying who you are? There's a site glitch which means some poster's usernames are not showing and I'd like to email HU support to ask them to fix it :)
