Hi Yaseen,I ordered ashwagandha from Amazon,it arrived this morning,so I haven't tried it yet,but it cost £5 for 60 tablets,and it says take 1 or 2 a day
Ashwagandha is an Indian Ayurvedic herb - well, root - (aka Withania somenifera). It is an adaptogen. Not to be taken during pregnancy.
I get mine (powder) from either Indigo herbs or Gopala Organics. They both sell on Amazon. You can make it into a tea or mix it into anything gloopy like yoghurt or a smoothy or a dessert.
it is related to tomatoes AFAIK, so if you are allergic to potatoes or tomatoes, it might not be the best idea.
Yaseen, ashwagandha is an adaptogen. Adeptogens are supposed to optimise your cortisol. This is a brilliant idea if your cortisol is high. It can help lower it. But if your cortisol is low, the only way an adaptagen can increase it is by stimulating the gland. And it really isn't a good idea to stimulate a sick gland.
Have a look at what Dr Lam says about adrenal exhaustion :

What you can do for your adrenals is get plenty of salt and a lot of vitamin C, and plenty of rest.
