Welcome to the forum, Ginbugj.
Youve not given us enough information to advise. If you are on thyroid medication you may be having a reaction to one of the fillers or you may be overmedicated. Tell us what your recent thyroid levels are (with the lab ref ranges) and what meds you are on and when you started them.
You may be having a reaction to a new soap, moisturiser, detergent. Or you may be having a reaction to plants you've brushed whilst walking.
Hi gin, I've not seen anyone report those kinds of symptoms from strictly hypothyroidism. Do you have small reddish spots as in a rash? Clutter had good suggestions especially if you wear knee socks. You could look up purpura. Maybe it's a staff infection from shaving your legs. That would create heat.
Google pretibial dermopathy. I used to get this, but it seems to have gone, thank goodness - the itching used to drive me crackers.
I would be grateful if someone has any info I have been On Carbamizol for 4 weeks and find that I suffer from painful calf muscles at night , the Gp has gone on line and says it is not down as a side affect so she has no idea. When I worked with recovering addicts they all had a similar condition called "restless legs" which was apparently caused by withdrawal
RLS can be magnesium deficiency ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/836...
if your shins are painful then it could be low Vit D too - just my experience (and others)
please don't underestimate vital (essential for life) minerals, they are essential for over or under active thyroidies. J
thank-you I will ask the nutritionist when I see them on wed, It is driving me crazy, sleeping is difficult enough, so being woken when I do sleep is very annoying to put it mildly. One thing did emerge from some tests I lack the chemical to store Iron so have to take Iron tablets to make sure I do not become anaemic could there be a connection
