A private message should be sent to foxyeyes by anyone who has information.
in my experience if you can get an endo to prescribe it for you then your dr should add it to your prescribed meds
saw endo july said i had sleepapneoa so dont think she will prescribe many thanks for reply.

<please PM> That's where I get mine. Think it was around £65 for 2 bottles, can't remember how many a bottle, of 25mcg.
Sorry meant to PM that.
I've sent you a PM. Europe has already been mentioned, apparently you can get it over the counter at a French pharmacy without prescription. I shall be finding out very soon!
How so?
Bo$*o*ks, my doctor is about as useful as a chocolate fire-guard, I self treat with T3, the only way I could get my health back.
i am presuming you have a doctor who listens to you and know's all about thyroid problems ?
Unfortunately in the UK this is often not possible. Very few doctors will prescribe anything other than levothyroxine these days for fear of GMC sanctions and pure lack of education in thyroid disease. In the US there seem to be more of the knowledgeable doctors like yourself. We don't have many here at all which leaves many of us to reluctantly self medicate.
Many of us know far more than our doctors and rely on private testing instead (which is far better than the TSH-only testing approach in many parts of the UK).
However, I completely agree this should be done with a knowledgeable doctor. I am yet to find one here though

i do agree with what you say Carolyn and in all of my 38 yrs of having a thyroid problem i have never met one who wants to understand, i do'nt want to self medicate but i have no option, i did'nt have a blood test for the first 26yrs then when i did because i was ill endo asked me who told me i had a thyroid problem?? 12yrs on am still trying to find one who will look past test results 2nd endo who i saw july said i have sleepapneoa so where do you go from there ? self medication as i see it is the only course for me.

Same for me. They go by TSH but my TSH is always below range even when my t4 and t3 are also well below range. My GP is good in that he will go by t4 but the others don't. I am very ill on Thyroxine but they will no longer prescribe t3 due to cost and scaremongering. I reluctantly self-medicate after doing a Lot of reading. I feel "normal" again, well almost
Thanks for the recommendation
I already take my temperature. I took it every 2 hours when I first started back on t3 until I became well again. I now take it periodically to make sure my temperatures still good.
My resting heart rate has gone from around 40bpm to 60-70bpm. Much better! I no longer get the blue lips when I sit still for more than 10 minutes or the arrhythmia and missed beats. Three different cardiologists failed to find the reason for those symptoms. Seems like it was my thyroid all along
i am sure you read the posts on this site so i am sure you can see not a lot of us would agree with you personally i do'nt others may.
UK GPs are ignorant of thyroid matters and some Endos don't seem to be much better either.
Presumably you're outside the UK?
