How much adrenal support?

I have been taking 1 tablet of nutri adrenal for the past week and felt much improved. However I wondered if anyone has any experience of an increased dose? Dr P in his (excellent) book says you can take up to 4 tablets a day but the instructions on the pot only say one tablet so just wanted to make sure I was talking about the same product before increasing the dose.

Thanks for any advice

Hi there, I'm afraid I'm not sure about your question but have read in the Dr James L Wilson book called 'Adrenal Fatigue' that very high doses of Vit C are good for healing the adrenals. It's a intense book but worth a read. What's the book called please that you have read? Thanks

Your Thyroid and how to keep it healthy by Dr Barry Durrant-Peatfield. Really well written and gives clear constructive advice. Thanks for your reply.

Excellent book I have read it twice, I obtained a myriad of information from it, and Dr Peatfield tells it in a simple manner with a sense of humour also. I would advise anyone to read this book.

I am currently taking 3 nutri adrenal per day. Have tried 4 but get a terrible headache. Not sure if I really feel any better but only been taking them for a month so will see how it goes.

Hi debs

Thanks for replying. Are you sure you have an adrenal problem then? I found an instant difference just taking one a day in the first week. Just find that I flag after about 5pm which is why I thought of upping the dose.

Have seen Dr P who thinks I do and certainly have the symptoms having eliminated everything else - B12, ferritin, calcium, vit D etc. Endo has now suggested a synacthen test. Can't see that it would do any harm to increase your dose as you can always stop if doesn't suit you. Not sure when you take it but perhaps taking one at lunchtime would stop the slump. Hope it works for you. So much seems to be trial and error. Good luck.

It did nothing for me unfortunately, waste of money

Hi Churchie! After seeing Dr P I've been gradually increasing my dose of Nutri Adrenal (Extra). He wanted me to increase slowly up to a maximum of 3-4 Nutri Adrenal Extra per day. I got up to 3, but when I tried 4 I started feeling quite sick. He therefore suggested that I take 3 NAX, and add first one Nutri Adrenal then 2 - giving me an equivalent to 4 NAX per day but without so much of the "extras". So, I'm now on 3 NAX and 2 NA per day.

Initially, when I started taking them, I did notice a boost. I still get a little boost at this level - but to some extent I seem to have plateaued. I think I'll have to ask him again if I'm doing the right thing or if I need to do something else.

But, yes, according to Dr P it's perfectly safe to take this amount (assuming you have adrenal fatigue, I guess) - and it doesn't seem to be causing me any problems as far as I can see. Good luck with it!
