I just want to correct my mistake in earlier post. Of course it went under active not over after RAI treatment. I notice a lot of people complain about putting on weight . I lost a stone and a half when over active and have regained very little on Levo. I have asked repeatedly if there is an alternative , only to be told no Levo is it.

Pinkpeony, can you post your recent thyroid results with the lab ref ranges (the figures in brackets after your results) as it helps members comment/advise.
There are alternatives to Levothyroxine (T4) but it is better to check that you are optimally medicated on T4 before making changes. There are alternatives to T4 ie Liothyronine (T3) and natural dessicated pig thyroid (NDT) which contains T4 and T3.
Many GPs will not prescribe T3 without guidance/instruction from an endocrinologist plus your doctors may be concerned that T3 may exacerbate your atrial flutters and cause atrial fibrillation. NDT is not licensed for use in the UK so few NHS doctors will prescribe it and most of the people using it self fund and buy online.
Hi pinkpeony I have edited for you. If you find you want to change anything in your post you click on the down arrow on the right hand side to Reply and Recommended and you get Edit or Delete and you can click on either. Of course Edit lets you amend something.
