Angel, we should have trained our JRs better My little JR/Springer jumps on me, walks over me and bruises and scratches me while digging a paw or elbow in tender places. Big JR/Springer is far more considerate apart from ocassionally stomping on my feet.
I bruise easily and they take ages to fade. VitD was deficient but is good now. It's made no difference to bruising but done away with hip and knee joint pain.
My whippets have really thin legs and it is like being lanced if they tread on you! I'm afraid mine even come under the covers with me So there is no escaping the pain of near impalement now and again! I can wake covered in paw sized bruises. I am odd with pain I don't feel it much save in my joints and with pressure on my skin which can be a killer. I am on it D I was 29 (just below range) and take 400iu D3 not much I think. I have never been retested since March when I felt awful.
TSH, mine were finally allowed on the bed when I was cold to the core with hypo. Impossible to keep them on, they would wriggle under the duvet. Canine heating was a must
i had loading and maintenance doses for vitD and still supplement 5,000iu daily as joint pain resumed a few weeks after I stopped supplementing.
Yes!! It may be fybriomyalgia , another autoimune condition! They can go together.....i cant tolerate combing ....google it...but this can be sorted out by change in diet...less carbs etc i think i remember reading this is helpful
I am hypothyroid and have Sjögren's syndrome which are caused by inflammation. If I get a paper cut it comes up inflamed and if I get any injury it's always more inflamed than in the past. The doctors sometimes measure inflammation markers in our blood so I reason that if the pain levels are already on high alert then when we have an injury it puts them over the top. My pain thresholds are always lower when the other symptoms are high.
What meds are you on? I have fibromyalgia in addition to Hashimotos and was incredibly sensitive to pressure on any part of me and had very low pain threshold until T3 was added to my levothyroxine. Feel hugely better now.
I can't bear to have my cat sat on my lap too much any more - my legs ache like crazy, and it is very uncomfortable. I'm deficient or low in range in lots of things, and supplementing is still ongoing. My muscles twitch like crazy, but my cat twitches a lot too - the pair of us look very odd together!
