Strange this should come up this morning.....

Yesterday I phoned a supplier here in UK as I'm beginning to explore my own way forward with using Armour Thyroid long term and would prefer to source here in UK if I can.

The pharmacist explained about the need to get a prescription from my GP or Endo and was as helpful as he could be.

However,he also warned that the price of 100 x1 grain Armour has just risen to £95 ....almost double the £50 quoted when I first enquired a short while ago and they are nearly sold out of their old price stock.he was quite choked about the situation.

I know that being patriotic we should all try to buy from British retailers, but if it is much cheaper to import then why rule that out?

I am advised to use a supplier here in UK.They deal through creditable agencies.

If it costs me £95 for 3 month's supply of Armour it will still be cheaper than the £100 x28 tabs of T3 that the NHS are paying for me at the moment.

.......Can only re emphasise the need for everyone to sign the government petition regarding research and supply of T3 and licensing of NDT in this country.

The world of thyroid medicine resonates with irony.

As I understand, Erfa, despite being regarded as a Canadian product, is made in Europe from European pigs.

But, as we have read, many people have had problems with it since its manufacture was moved to Spain.

I also wonder what percentage of potential pig thyroids are actually processed into desiccated thyroid. I'd always have suggested only a minority of thyroids! So a reduction of pig processing might not necessarily mean a reduction in the amount of thyroid available to the market - if there was a surplus available before.

Of course, that does not stop the prices rising.
