Does anyone have any information about the surrey park clinic.

In 2006 I was told that I am euthyroid although like most others on here I feel rubbish and my weight is a real problem. I have all the other symptoms and a goitre so obviously all is not well with my thyroid. I'm going to get a copy today of my last test done by the GP so that I can start to ask the right questions. I thought that this is how everyone feels when menopausal/old. Now I am mostly through that. GP tried to put me on anti-depressants. I'm not depressed, I am miserable and angry at feeling like this. I realise now that there is light at the end if you get the meds and the support right.

May I suggest you edit the title of your post? You haven't said why you are asking about a particular clinic and all replies should be by PM.

Welcome Sammorgar to our forum,

If someone has information they will send you a private message and you will receive an email. If you would like a list of NHS Endos/private doctors email louise.warvill@thyroiduk.org.

When you get your list of blood test results, please ensure the ranges are stated as labs differ and it makes it easier to comment.

Many times it is a struggle to get diagnosed but it looks as if you have done research.

If you reply to a particular comment you should press the yellow Reply to this and the person is alerted by email that you may require further info.

Thanks for replying. My diagnosis of the goitre was easy. I lost a lot of weight on Lighterlife and the swelling in the throat was obvious. Luckily it was benign when tested. I have had my meds done:

Thryoid function test (SF409) - normal, no action.

Serum TSH level 0.8 mIU/L (0.4 - 5.0)

Serum free T4 level 17pmol/L (9 - 19)

Haematinic comments - some abnormalities, none serious, see Dr 2-4 wks. False normal serum B12 results may rarely occur. If there is a high clinical suspicion of pernicious anaemia or subacute degeneration of the cord, please discuss further testing.

Methotrexate, aminopterin & folinic acid (Leucoverin) cross react with folate binding proteins in folate asseys. This may give rise to falsely high serum folate results.

Serum vitamin B12 362 ng/L (189 - 883)

Serum folate 4.6 ug/L (4.8 - 19.0)

I notice there is no T3 result which is what everyone is talking about. Can anyone make sense of the above so I know what to ask when I go to my appointment at the Clinic

Hi again,

If you copy and paste your blood test results into a new question, you will get responses from members who are better at blood tests than me. Also in the heading of your question put Goitre - help with blood tests. I can see your B12 and folate are low. Don't supplement with B12 methylcobalamin yet in case they are going to test you for pernicious anaemia.
