It seems the NHS isn't interested in patients' health!

This poor poor doctor has been driven to suicide by being, it seems, too conscientious and actually wanting to help his patients. So sad

One of the old school obviously and appreciated by his patients. Incredibly sad for his family and I hope they take the culprits to task.

Very, very sad.

"Dr Farley was an old-style doctor who was operating in the new-style, Blairite system. Nowadays they run a few computer programmes and decide what's wrong, which is completely at odds with the old-style, holistic approach."

Says it all really doesn't it.

Very sad indeed... and to have your life's work questioned.....

so it's 'old-style' to make a referral to a specialist nowadays? J

So sad. :-(

It doesn't surprise me at all though. At our surgery, we had two really good GPs who would listen to patients, refer them as necessary, etc. The rest of the GPs there are hopeless. Both of these doctors have now retired early and unexpectedly - one after she kept going off on extended leave (I suspect for stress). I suspect all good doctors like this are now under so much pressure with finance being the only concern of the managers. Awful. Truly awful.
