Why I thought.......

...it would be any use going to my Endo appointment yesterday I do not know. I was so sick of not knowing what the sticky spots on my skin were (though am pretty sure they are current Levo fillers coming through my skin) that I stupidly thought he might prescribe something other than Levo. I was only in there about 5 minutes in total. He first asked why I had gone to see him and when I told him about the spots and lower T3 (4 down from 5.8 2 years ago) and higher TSH (1.99 up from 1.27) he said he did not know anything about the spots and he thought my blood levels were good and he couldn't have wished they were any better. No reason was given for painful knees, legs and arms, sore mouth and more and that he would have to 'release me'. Twice he said this and showed me the door. Don't really know what to do now but have a few things in mind which I was hoping not to do (complaining). He said he did not now that Eltroxin was not now available to us and that he would have to look into it (am sure he won't bother though). Am, unfortunately going to see him again in a few weeks with my son, so will be having the same sort of conversation with him again. Do love going over old ground and getting nowhere! Janet.

A poor consult is so demoralising. I really feel for you Janet. Have you tried sourcing Eltroxin on the internet? I know it is available in Ireland. Alternatively you could self-medicate with T3 in addition to Levo. This would decrease your TSH and improve your FT3.

Eltroxin is still available as an identical generic. These documents amcolimited.com/news/evothy... explain.

Hi Jimh, It was the 'identical' generic that caused all the problems my son and I have been having and a change to Wockhardt has not alleviated all these problems, slightly better though. Thankyou for the information of the Amco site though. Janet.

Do complain to PALS at the hospital where you were seen. This doc doesn't seem to know about thyroid, and your treatment was appalling, poor you!

Hi lisabax, Have already complained to PALS and CCG re our treatment from this hospital and have not got anywhere. Will certainly do something though. Janet.

I'm so sorry you got nowhere with PALS. Wishing you all the best with your continued fight for good treatment. LB

Hi Reallyfedup (me too), I will certainly let Louise know and as many others as I can. His manner is so egotistical. Janet.
