Hi and welcome to the forum.

Good news that you've been given thyroxine. I was told my remaining lobe would produce sufficient hormone. It didn't!

It's best to be treated by symptoms rather than aim at a range which is based on a population average. Most people will feel well with their TSH just above or below 1 and their FT4 and FT3 in the upper 75% of range. It can take a while to recover your health and energy as it is necessary to be on a dose for about 6 weeks to feel benefits and dose increases/decreases are usually in 25mcg increments to avoid shocking the body.

Don't take your thyroxine until after your blood test as it may skew the results. You should take levothyroxine with plenty of water an hour before or two hours after food and drink, two hours away from supplements and other medicaton and four hours away from calcium, iron and eostrogen.

It's a good idea to have your ferritin, vitamin D, B12 and folate tested. These need to be high in range and will help you absorb thyroxine and recover. Make sure to ask for printouts of blood results with lab ref ranges after every blood test.
