jan, have you tried nystatin? It destroys only candida without the side effects of the other prescriptions. Paul D'Arco tea is also useful. You must stay away from sugars which candida relies upon.

No, I haven't tried nystatin Heloise, can you get it without prescription? Have you tried either of these two? X

It's difficult to get without prescription. I have taken nystatin suspension after having so many antibiotics that caused a yeast infection in my throat. I haven't taken it to resolve gut issues. That type would be a powdered form. Which do you have? I can give you more information about it if you want to pursue it. It's another of those old, safe remedies that the modern world wants to hide because it is too cheap and too effective I guess.

I'm not sure which I've got, I've done the home test for it and ended up with what looked like a jelly fish in my glass. I'm out of money for tests as I've spent around 2,000 getting this far.

Oh my. Oh my. What did you do? The spit test?

I am in the U.S. and participated on a bulletin board run by a conventional medical doctor who eventually lost his license because he understood chronic disease and knew it could often be addressed without a lot of pharmaceuticals. He gave wonderful advice for more than ten years until his death. His Board is archived and still on the net. Many, many people wrote in about candida and leaky gut. You can look at the Glossary at the different terms but I will send you the page with articles. It is well worth your time. #3 is of particular interest but each one is very informative. askwaltstollmd.com/articles...

That's great, thanks Heloise. Yes I did the spit test, is that no good? X

Yeah, I don't know. I never took it myself. lol, too gross. You can put it in the search archives line and read many posts and Dr. Stoll's comments about it. I know Dr. Stoll was well ahead of his time and he knew about leaky gut thirty years before the mainstream topic it is now. He answered everyone personally and never took a cent or advertised on his forum. Wonderful, brilliant man!!!

Hi - theres a lot of reference to candida in the Harcombe diet...which is not just a diet more a food health awareness. You might find it more effective and less invasive than meds. Zoe Harcombe claims to have 20 years research experience.

Hi there I took probiotics and garlic and parsley tablets, no sugar, no fruit and no juices.

Hello,

I've had candida for 10 years or so but was diagnosed only last year. My first attempt to cure it failed, but this year I started SCD diet (more info here: breakingtheviciouscycle.info/ and the book can be bought on Amazon) and managed to get a month's worth of nystatin (thanks to my mu who lives in Poland). After 1st week of diet the bloated belly went away and never returned. I'm finishing the nystatin now. Nystatin I'm taking is in a tablet form which I swallow as my candida sits in guts. To treat candida on my tongue I gargle my mouth in the morning and evening with tea tree oil diluted with water. My tooth brush and tongue scraper are soaked in water with a few drops of tea tree oil. My tongue is finally starting to look pink again.

You can test your candida for £61 here: candidatest.co.uk/. I've used them twice. I know many people use Genova Diagnostic, but the lab I use they send results to you, not to your doctor/practitioner, and they attach a comprehensive report and tell you what to do and what can you use to get rid of candida.

Also, SCD diet was a godsend! You need a lot of determination to pursue with it, but it does help to heal the gut.

Hope that helps!

Thank you so much Massao, I think I've got a lot of reading to do. My bloated belly has def improved by me doing low carb diet, gluten/wheat and sugar free but still have breathing issues with shortness of breath. I did read somewhere that the candida can enter the lungs as well.
