Does anyone else have manic episodes when off if meds?

Are you already on thyroid meds?

If so, which one..? What dose..? What make..?

Do you have your latest thyroid bloods, including the ranges..?

Do you have any other conditions..?

Are you on any other meds...?

Hi Welcome to the site. Why do you stop the meds? Are you hyper? If so, this is quite likely.Do you have regular blood tests, especially TSH, T4 and Free T3 ? Always ask for a print out with ranges, differ at different Labs.

Hi Spud,

I get symptoms of mania but am yet to work out any pattern to it. I was mis-diagnosed with bi-polar disorder for years before they found out I had Hashimotos disease which can lead you to swing from being hypo to hyper thus mimicking bi-polar syptoms. Recently I started supplementing with kelp under the advice of a neurapath which sent my thyroid into overdrive and my TSH was 0.01 which for me manifested itself in hper manic symptoms of restlessness, innability and less need for sleep, suddenly going from my usual blob in a dressing gown (Hypo) to swimming everday and impersonating a headless chicken. Apart from the feeling of anxiety I kind of liked it and find it preferable to being a hypo mess. But as Louise said more info would help.

Help I'm on carbimazole 5mg , endo said going into normal range , was I proponolol 4omg per day then 2 back 1 , now off

proponolol , since had really bad shakes , tremors awful ,had a few diazepam had 2 good sleeps , last nite woke heart beating fast & shaking feek sick please help should I go back to proponolol , I need my thyroid bloods doing today.
