My child's naturopath said 1/2 grain of WPthyroid (nature throid) equals 50 mcg Levothyroxine. Is this wrong? I am worried because you said 1 grain of Armour equals 60 mcg of Levothyroxine. It doesn't make sense to me. Any help is appreciated before I need to call the endocrinologist who is very derisive of natural hormone and won't be amenable to my question as my child is no longer a patient of hers. Much appreciate any help. Thank you
If Armour 1 grain equals 60 mcg, how does WP th... - Thyroid UK
If Armour 1 grain equals 60 mcg, how does WP thyroid (newer version of Nature Throid) transfer to mcg's of Levothyroxine?
I believe he is wrong. Link from RLC Labs who make it it. It is confusing when you've never had to deal with thyroid gland

Thank you Shaws. I also checked this site, wpthyroid.com/pharmacy/conv... and it looks like it equates to 50 mcg Synthroid (levo)
Thanks for that info. I hope your daughter feels better soon.
The conversion charts produced by /for those converting from levothyroxine to desiccated thyroid tend to be conservative. That is, they underestimate the amount of desiccated thyroid in order to play safe.
This is not a criticism, we wouldn't wish to be overdosed when converting, but it is as well to know. Therefore, if we are talking of going from 50mcg of levothyroxine to half a grain of desiccated thyroid, we would expect that to be safe though possibly a bit low. So, be aware, look out for possible under-dosing, and expect to have to increase the desiccated thyroid a bit - maybe to 3/4 grain. But it might not be necessary!!
