Buzzing Ears?: Hello, I was diagnosed with under... - Thyroid UK
Buzzing Ears?
I am not on meds yet, but I have very buzzy right ear, which is the side where I have a nodule. It's one of the hypo symptoms on the TUK list, so I think it's the hypo rather than the meds themselves
If you've not had tinnitus before, could it be that the tiny dose of levo has made you even more hypo which has brought on a new symptom - ? These tiny first doses can sometimes shut off whatever your thyroid is trying to produce but they don't give you adequate replacement so you can become even more underactive and symptomatic.
never had it before, the tiredness has eased off and im feeling more human again just the buzzing which is slightly confusing
Yes , I had Buzzing ears drove me mad and tinnitus. I had it all the time whilst on levothyroxine 25mg to 100mg. It is getting better now but I am on NDT I also had an issue with my eyes clicking when I shut and opened them along with dizziness. All appear to be getting better on my new medication.
Hope you get it sorted it drove me mad !
Yes I still get buzzing or tinnitus sometimes, and prior to treatment, I had amplified hearing, felt like having bionic hearing but it killed my brain to hear noise. I have discovered 'Yoga Mudras', this one seems to work for me to get rid of the noise, basically bend your middle fingers into your palms and place the the thumbs over them to hold them in place do the exercise 'til the noise stops.
I had really noisy ears at one time. I thought we had helicopters flying low over the house every night!!!.Since medication i rarely get any buzzing.
im going to bring it up at my review in six weeks, thankfully its not to bad when im lay down so sleeping is okay just like a little gnat is buzzing around. im wondering it might be my body getting used to the new thyroxine boost .
I have tinnitus which almost disappeared when I was very hypo. Once I started medication the tinnitus returned. It's especially loud a couple of hours after taking the levothyroxine. Lately I've been generally feeling better, but I've noticed the tinnitus has also increased in volume. I think tinnitus gets worse when your blood pressure increases. It might be that. Oh yes, and it might be useful to know that going gluten free a few years back did help reduce the tinnitus.
