Offically...no prescibed medicines in UK contain gluten.

The only thing you need for a gluten free diet...is to be strictly gluten free. Everything and I mean everything you eat...has to be gluten free.

If you need guidance on this...email me off board...and I will assist. Same applies to anyone else....Happy to help if I can...

I am Coeliac myself...(plus diabetic)

Hi be sure to have gluten until after the biopsy. Also not fool proof, so if negative, then worth trying no gluten for 6 weeks if you think it is a problem.

Lol Dr told me to fill my boots with gluten for next 6 weeks before biopsy, I probably end up piling the pounds on. I have already put weight on this month with being on no medication for the last month X

Hi I do sympathize ,Are you sure the weight is not thyroid as friends who are diagnosed with Caeliac have not put on any weight, they do not have thyroid problems.

I cannot understand why you have been of thyroid treatment. If you need

it, it is usually only for a nuclear scan of the PTH that you come off it. for.

I have only gained. 61b Over the month since stopping medicine, i am not hugely overweight i have gained a stone whilst unwell in the whole 7 years, Yes your right Jackie the consultant is checking for pituitary problems. I am sure they will get to the bottom of everything soon X thankfully I can start armour this Friday.

The blood tests she did showed raise levels suggesting coeliac and low iron saturation. but untill the biopsy I won't know for sure, I would never have thought I had coeliac hopefully I won't have. But have been gluten wheat free for last 3 weeks and stomach much flatter so even if I don't have it I think I will be careful with gluten/ wheat anyway X

Hi Sounds as if you are being well looked after.A lot of people who do not have a problem with gluten, do find bread a problem!I cannot eat beat, a nuisance. of course, you could do an exclusion diet but not easy, the allergy tests are limited.

Best wishes,

Jackie

I think the STTM website has a list of all the ingredients of all the makes of NDT and synthetic drugs. It's certainly in the book

All the ones people in the UK are likely to come across are listed (with ingredients and other information) here:

I think you might be meaning:

sodium starch glycolate

What is Sodium Starch Glycolate?

Sodium starch glycolate is the sodium salt of carboxymethyl ether. Starch glycolates are of rice, potato, wheat or corn origin. Sodium starch glycoate is a white to off-white, tasteless, odorless, relatively free flowing powder.
