Does anyone know of a doctor in Hinckley Leicestershire that is sympathetic towards thyroid problems and understands the problems we have as i am getting very fed up with my Hollycroft practice not managing to keep a doctor for long and so i see a different one every time.

Huh, good luck with that. I recently changed to my local doctors, Castle Mead, which holds surgeries in Hinckley & Stoke Golding, but got nowhere. I was informed that I was not tired due to my thyroid and she seemed unconcerned about it. She wouldn't accept that I felt that one brand of Levo was less potent that another and that they both contain exactly the same ingredients. How does she know? We ran out of time to discuss anything else and I was sent away. I dread going there again as they make you feel so stupid!

Yes exactly Lindy 123 i also dread going now as one tells me i am ill and another says i am not but i am the one with the symptoms living the hell with pain and no energy, shortness of breath if i exert myself and they are pushing to get me off of sickness benefit which has been stopped and is now at the tribunal stage so i am only on a partial payment.I find it so annoying that even doctors are starting to get this stigma against being ill brought on by our government that makes all the other sheep follow.I have worked from leaving school and payed my National insurance for years so now in my time of need i can't claim my insurance while i am ill and that's what its for!

I to live in Hinckley and I'm having the same problems with my GP which is the Maples surgery. I came away from the surgery yesterday in tears from the callous and disinterested manner in which the Dr treated me. He insists everything is 'normal' but my results are in the lower range of normal and I'm experiencing all the usual symptoms I'm sure you all would recognise. He wasn't interested in my symptoms and when I asked what else could be causing them if it wasn't thyroid he shrugged then suggested anti-depressants!!!, I could have slapped him. It's so insulting and patronising. Feeling really fed up today.....Maria
