crap response. BGH dr knew this cos I TOLD HER !!and she could see for herself,thats what you tell doctors why you are seeing them -what symptoms you have ???

(For example, there's no way that the BGH nurse can know whether you have lost or gained weight from any specific part of your body, unless she had access to your doctor's records. So she would have just acknowledged what you, the patient, told her because they don't have any other information or history)

sorry if I confused you.the comment made by a family member is the part in brackets.my weight gain is all abdominal -not general- GP recorded me as obese from BMI measurements.- which only gives total body weight nto where weight is lost and gained in different areas -objected to when I found out cos gone down to normal size 12 from size 14 thru no fault of my own- apart from swollen abdomen.BGH is the hospital I attended and it wasn't the A&E dr that upset me- she recongised my weight gain was all abdominal and accepted that I ahd lost weight elsewhere when I told her -it was the family member comment that angered me -the idea of going to a dr is that you tell them your symptoms for them to investigate and get a diagnosis/treat you

not so If gp doesn't listen an does not record everything I tell him,you don't know what they write.i am seeing my rheumatologist in march to discuss why he put things in his letter to my gp which I never said and what I did tell him he dismissed

From reading what the family member said, I'm not sure what has upset you? I know that your GP's behaviour has been unacceptable but not following what has happened here. Your brother (?) seems to be saying that the nurse will not have had access to your notes so has to rely on a patients self-rotting symptoms, as well as the ones they can see for themselves. So if you tell her you have lost weight, and your stomach has become more swollen, then that is the basis she HAS to work upon as she has no other background notes available to her in A & E. I think perhaps your brother was trying to explain that perhaps the nurse wasn't necessarily saying the opposite to your GP in this instance, rather that she accepted what you say about your weight, as that is the only information she has available to her. It may be that he didn't mean to upset you in the way that he had? Xx

p.s. The letter from your GP is an entirely different matter however and is not on! Xx

exactly lipbalmaddict.if you tell a dr or nurse shtg you are hardly likely to make it up.its the way it says "so she would HAVE JUST ACKNOWLEDGED what you told her " . she accepted what I told her not implying it is all in my head as drs do.

when I go to hospital it is a 3-4 hour round trip by bus plus time spent there .its not a journey you would do for no reason ,plus today so bad pelvic pain can barely walk and its persistent

Well I think maybe the best thing you can do is see a different GP in the practice - it doesn't matter that they have your notes and read what he writes, they won't all be as obnoxious as he is irrespective of what they read. I strongly agree with shaws advice to pay for a T3 test privately. Where is your nearest big town or city? X
