Can anyone else grow a tail?

I have spina bifida occulta, my marker is what I think is called faun tail nevus. I can grow a tail from my lower back. I would like to know more about this and is it just me?

Amazing photograph - it is big when you hover over it.

I have no idea whether there is any connection with thyroid whatsoever.
