I believe so. I used to work at a vets and there were instances of cats having thyroidectomies for hyperthyroidism and then becoming hyper again...

Mine had grown back after about 20 years after having a sub-total Thyroidectomy, although the Endo said that it was not producing any hormones.

If not removed COMPLETELY it will regrow as it's a gland

My sister had Radioactive Iodine ablatement and was warned that "it might come back" but unclear whether the "it" was Graves or thyroid.

How so interesting!

I should think once the thyroid gland is grown back then the antibodies against thyroid/thyroid hormones/receptor would also follow, Clutter?
