I was lead to believe that when you took T3 only that the TSH would become supressed, mine did the opposite and soared to 29.
You have to be on enough T3 for you to resolve your symptoms. TSH doesn't need to be suppressed but can be low. Your TSH is too high which suggests you are not taking enough.
Hello Shaws I had completely come of Levo reducing down to nothing from 100mcgs, and very slowly upped my cynomel T3 and was up to 50mcgs. Had atrial fibrilation and got scared. Reduced and got better but terrible bloating followed. Had bloods done and doctor told me to go back on Levo 100mcgs now back down to 0.21 from29 and just taking T3 small amount in the morning 12.5. Do not feel optimized, tired and weight gain, but have just found out that I have low Vit D only 23, been retested and awaiting results and doctor said would supplement me.
Hi Marmaris, just to let you know that you need to click on 'Reply to this' at the end of Shaws's post for her to be notified that you have replied to her. Like I have done here. Otherwise she may not read it
Have you read Paul Robinson's Recovering with T3 book? In there he mentions about how using his TSH readings were completely useless when medicating with T3 and he ended up over replaced too when his TSH suggested he should increase his dose. Although I don't think his went up as high as yours - that is really quite high! Think he showed that his TSH went up and down at different times of day and did not correlate with symptoms or something like that. You'd have to read it to check I've got that right though lol.
Anyway, hope you get sorted soon xx
Thanks DiamondFire yest I am in contact with Paul and hope to get his book.
