Yesterday I took one tablet of selenium bought from boots, which made me very ill. Those multivitamins also made me sick. I could drink any alcohol, nothing at all. I am hypothyroid. Any comments, thx.

I find that if I take any supplements without food, then it makes me feel very sick and makes me retch. Clemmie

I wonder if it's one of the other ingredients commonly put in supplement tablets like magnesium stearate? With supplements it's a good idea to research each and every one before you buy. Many sold in shops like Boots, Holland & Barrett etc are sold for profit only and are either not well absorbed or actually harmful. So read up on the internet (mulitiple sources, not just one or two pages, get a consensus) about the best type of any supplement to take and then buy it online. You'll be amazed at the information you discover. Decent supplements generally are not available in regular shops.

Good luck x

Thanks. computer got a bit problem, only see it now. will follow the advice.

Try Selenium 100 mcg by Biocare.

Boots vitamins often have synthetic ingredients.

Take supplements with food.

Hope this helps.

For many years I've used Wassen Selenium-ACE+ D. A while back I took a break for some baselines and then gradually built up that and other minerals and vitamins again. However when I bought my next supply I noticed that the 100 mcg now was boasting it contained sprout powder! I have an allergy to brassicas but noticed that the 200 mcg does not so upped my dose. So beware even things you think you are happy with may change un noticed.
