What's the best iodine test to do?

I lived abroad in a city that has iodine deficiency and want to have an iodine test done before I start taking any iodine. Can anyone recommend a reliable test? Thanks

Hi Louise. I live in England, but when I got ill I lived abroad where there is a known iodine deficiency. x
