Difficult for me to comment from experience as I have Hashimotos - meaning the auto-immune version of thyroid illness. You have not had your anti-bodies tested so I cannot comment.
One thing I would like to say is - that when I was first tested I had all the above testes you mention plus the Anti-TPO and Anti-TG. The tests I had which were the same as yours - were all in the range but the anti-bodies were high. So the diagnosis was made....

marz,i also have same situation as u;all thyroid levels 'normal'(though doc wont test t3) but my TP antibodies are v v high...yet they refuse to diagnose /treat my Hashimotos,even though i have hypo symptoms and family history.So,are u saying that u got a diagnosis/treatment,anyway?
Yes I was diagnosed with in range TSH FT4 FT3 and high anti-bodies. I also had a scan which revealed nodes. The GP here in Crete prescribed T4 to support the thyroid saying I had Hashimotos. This was in 2005. Am inclined to think of myself as having auto-immune issues affecting the thyroid as I was diagnosed with Crohns in my 20's - some 40 years ago.
Would it be possible for you to request a scan - it may add additional information to the tests you have already had done. Also you could do the test for FT3 privately or offer to pay your surgery when you have your next blood tests that they do allow.. I did read on this forum that the FT3 test can at times be unreliable but like many tests it can be a guide. eg B12 only tells you what is in the blood and not what is happening at a cellular level.
It has been a bumpy road and I have been able to learn from people on this forum - lots of people pointing you in the right direction by suggesting sites and articles and of course sharing experiences.
I think you need to put a case together based on family history, symptoms etc and ask for a trial of T4. to see if things improve for you.

Hello, For some people diagnosis and treatment are simple and straightforward. The reason that this site and Thyroid UK exist however is because for many, many people this is not the case.
We spent many years being referred to countless specialists for my daughter's individual symptoms all to no avail. However, we eventually went to see a private doctor who confirmed our suspicions that she was hypothyroid despite the "normal" test results. I've been hypo for almost a year, test results " in range " but still tired, my GP hadn't tested my ferritin or B12, this she did eventulally because I went back and moaned. I'm very Aneamic, this can effect the conversion of Thyroxine, now on iron supplement and feeling so much better. All my thyroid bloods said normal, maybe you need to dig deeper. Hope you feel better soon, it's no fun being tired all the time x x
Thanks, happy. We have now found help for my daughter. We had to go to the USA and they found a very complicated autoimmune problem which is now, at last being addressed. We went through all the usual channels first though (vits/ mins adrenals etc.). We're getting there. Jane x

Hi Yes, I understand your confusion and I would do as the last few people have said and ask your Doctor to do a blood test for Vitamins and ferritin. I saw a Thyroid Specialist at the Whittington Hospital just 2 weeks ago. She said my Thyroid was Normal in March and in August, it shot right down. However she also said that my antibodies were high , so it could be an Autoimmune Type of Thyroid Disease (Hashimoto), my Doctor did not even mention this. I p
I pushed my own Doctor for a Vitamin Test after seeing posts on here. I was glad I did. The Specialist said my Vitamins were not level, and found my Iron was very low, and my Vitamin D was so low at just 18 (normal range from 70 -280) that she has put me on an emergency high dose of 20,000 per day for the next month. Keep Pushing for answers and get more blood tests done.
Hi Happy123, yes I am rattling, only problem is the iron tablets are making me sooo constipated. Eating tons of pears and soft fruit, going to try prunes in juice today.
