Should I delay my blood tests

Hi

I posted last week re bad palpitations with increase of levo, I increased from 100mcg to 125mcg eleven weeks ago then increased to 150mcg 5 weeks ago. I then reduced to 125mcg last week as the palpitations and racing pulse were really bad and I was concerned I was over medicated. My bloods are due to be taken next week and then I see the endo the week after but as I reduced last week should I now cancel the test and wait another four weeks or so or still have it done just to see what is going on.

Many thanks browny

Hi browny, Normally with synthetic thyroxine treatment, it should be 5- 6 weeks between altering meds and a blood test. Otherwise you may get a false result.

Best wishes,

Jackie
