Hi there, can I ask does anyone else have tingling, ( slight pins and needles) fairly consistently in hands and feet? I read it may be B12 ?

Hi yes a b12 deficiency can cause tingling in your hands and feet...have you had your b12, folate and ferritin levels checked recently????

Hi there, I had iron levels checked about a year ago, but never B12 to my knowledge, I would rather buy a private test , have you used any that you can recommend? Thankyou :-)

You can get the active B12 home test via TUK here- put in TUK code for discount - however have you tried asking your GP for the usual test first?

Do u know if u have to stop B12 supplementation before the test and if so fr how long. Also shd u have the tst fasting?

in reply toCaze

sorry I didn't see your reply, no, fasting is usually for diabetes and another test I forget, but I fast before a test anyway just in case. - but yes I should have avoided supplements too for more than a week, as my B12 result seems OK but 'active' test was on the low side. But I'm no expert just a fellow sufferer. J x

I get tingling inside soles of my feet. Bought some easily digested B12 but I still get it. Its annoying trying to get to sleep

Yes, so maybe a circulation thing, is that high impact type exercise? I get plenty of exercise dashing about after three kids and school runs etc but nothing aerobic like?

Hiya

That can also be caused by low calcium. Also low magnesium.

My tingling feet and legs were hypothyroid related and stopped when i was taking enough thyroid replacement hormones. Is that a possibility for you?

My Pins and needles stopped within two days of when I started taking my Levothyroxine at night (on its own,) on an empty stomach.

Second from last blood test showed up normal, but I was still having tiredness, jumping around sharp/deep pains, foggy brain, pins and needles at ends of fingers and feet and still putting on weight. so due to my symptoms Doc put my Levo up to 75 and said to do more blood tests for B12, Vit D plus a few others I can't remember. (will ask for print out of them.)

I had my last blood tests done recently, then in between the tests and results (because my symptoms were getting worse by the day,) I decided to start taking my Levo at night. All Pains, pins and needles, brain fog, disappeared, (+ weight slowly. :) )

All these symptoms disappeared before knowing my last test results to see if I needed B12 or any others supplements.

Thankyou so much for all responses, really helpful! Yes could be still need a touch more levo, I take my 75 at night( after more excellent advice from this forum). I found a great improvement in doing this as never had time in morning to wait an hour before coffee and toast! Will try and get a more thorough bloods ASAP xx have a great weekend and thanks again x
