Sorry - just to clarify, you have been having the symptom for 3 years, but the meds were only reduced 18 months ago..? Are you asking if the reduction in meds could have caused the symptom?

Why was your dose reduced?

Do you have your latest thyroid bloods, including the ranges?

Do you have any other symptoms?

Which levo are you on? Do you always have the same one?

This information will help people to better offer informed support.

I have itchy ears - drives me nuts, also 'itchy throat on the inside' if that makes any sense. Generally itchy all over a lot of the time (I don't have a penis, so that's at least one relief *I think*!!) Sorry - couldn't resist! I am not making light of it though - I have underactive thyroid and have had both watery and dry eyes, for which I have to use Lacrilube now - which is also for my eyes, in case anyone gets the wrong idea! You have my sympathy - and I too wonder if these are all connected so welcome other views. I have an ointment to use inside my ear canals when it gets too bad, but the itch never really goes away.

This sounds more like an allergic reaction. I know this because all of your symptoms or irritation were what my dogs get if they eat nasty food, such as those that containe maize and soya and strangely red meat. Sorry to compare you to a dog :-) Perhaps there is a filler in the pills you are allergic to, or perhaps you are eating something you have developed an allergy to? Late onset allergies are becoming more common now.

Kieweit, sounds tough! I too suffered with itchy eyebrows, temples, ears ...and my tongue although no spots felt thick/swollen? hard to describe, but was not right! For me it was my body telling me it was strugglling, eventually I listened and cut out all sugar even fruit! I have a morning juice which has been a lifesaver for me, I have been drinking it for over a year and the benefits are worth the effort of doing it daily. One of each - cucumber, granny smith apple, peeled lemon and 2/3 stalks of celery. I bought a £30 juicer from Argos and it's stilll going strong. Give it a try, it will nourish as well as calm the inflammation.
