I am a hypo with IBS, CFS, TMJ, Type 2 diabetes and now arthritis. So pain in joints esp. hands and knees. Tired all the time and aching. Also weight going up at present and blood sugars running a bit high. If I go to GP they just say I have chronic illness and can expect to feel unwell. Have had tests for several things inc. B12 which is 215 (range 150 to 900) and they say ever thing is in the normal range so not that. Just feel like a moan.
Tired of being tired. Tired of being given new ... - Thyroid UK
Tired of being tired. Tired of being given new medication to manage the symptoms.
I'll join the moan team. GP Friday said I'm 41 so I should expect fell unwell have low energy and weight gain. So as blood tests are normal means thyroxine is doing its job and the symptoms are age related arrrghhh
Hi
I have learnt from this site that your B12 is low, it should be nearer to the top of the range for your thyroid meds to work properly, also when low it can cause fatigue and a host of other symptoms. It is advised an active B12 test be done when the serum B12 is low. The active B12 can be done privately (G.P's will not do it) and will show if you are actually deficient enough to warrant supplementing. I am sure someone more knowledgable will come along with more advice
Best wishes browny
Hello there wilsonhealth360.com deals with the top 12 autoimmune diseases and provides tools and processes to help you get to the bottom of things and feel better.
Your B12 is way too low, everything you need to know about B12 is on the website humanbean has linked above. Read all around the website, and maybe come and join the Facebook page or PAS for advice on what to do next (found in the very useful links section). It is also important to know your folate and iron result, as these are often low range as well.
If you are symptomatic of B12 deficiency:

Then show your doctor this warning about the serum B12 test:

And insist on treatment and/or further testing - Active B12, MMA, Homocysteine, Anti-Parietal Cells, Anti-Intrinsic Factor:
Hi Hamster, Many thanks for posting these sites. I will be showing them to my son's endo when we see him again in February as he has asked for information on B12 in the past. Hope he is still receptive! Janet.
Thanks for replies. When I spoke to GP she just kept saying that B12 is I normal range so it's not a problem. I have started to take Boost B12oral spray but not sure it's helping yet. Time change hasn't helped. I find it very hard to manage when the clocks change. it's seems to take at least a week for my body to get used to the new time.
