Have you got a TSH result to go with these results.

TSH 1.86 six weeks ago. Dr has since reduced Levothyroxine again down to 75mcgs

Your T3 which is the active hormone, and the only one which can affect how you feel, is actually barely above the very minimum, which is a strong indication of hypothyroidism, whatever your TSH says. If you are also suffering symptoms, then your Levothyroxine should NOT have been reduced, it is likely to make you feel worse.

Having said that, it would seem that you are not converting the T4 properly into T3, so you could actually find you could benefit by looking at Vitamin D, B12, and iron/folate/ferritin. Any deficiencies in any of these will not only hinder conversion but could also give you hypo symptoms anyway.

Some people find that although they seem to be under-treated, things improve once these vitamins and minerals are at an optimal level.

Hi marram.

I originally went to see Gp as was getting a jittery tummy. They did a blood test for TSH only which came back at .22 which for me is very low.

Dr said to reduce from 125mcgs to 100mcg. I did this and 4 days later started getting flushes sweats and chills.

After 5 weeks I had another blood test which came back as these results. TSH 1.86 ft4 16 & f3 3.9.

My Ferritin level was 80ug and my folate was normal but at lower to mid range.

I am due another blood test next week ( 6 weeks this time). Gp has agreed to also test Vit D and cortisol.

I am still experiencing a jittery tummy which feels "uneasy" and does sommersaults. Also still getting sweats and hot flushes.

I have been hyperthyroid for about 28years.

Will be seeing Gp on 31st for results of blood rest.

My last B12 result was 2662. So I was told to stop taking the sublingual B12.

Can any of this be the cause of me feeling jittery and anxious all the time? Much worse in morning. I now dread waking up to another day of it.

My original TSH only was .22 ( i have never ever had TSH that low before)

Ps. I was taking 5000iu of Vit D3 for about 18months but stopped it in about Apr due to summer coming.

I am confused. Did you mean hyperthyroid for 28 years or hypothyroid. If the former, why are you on thyroxine? Your T4/3 are not hyper level, so your symptoms point to hypo. Have you taken your basal temperature, first thing in the morning, before even getting out of bed? If it is below normal, you are almost certainly hypo.

So dorru. HYPOTHYROID for 28years. Always felt well though on levo med. I think that taking small dose of nortriptyline for 2 years has messed things up. I have never had TSH so low before.

No i have not taken temperature in morning. This all started in July and I've now had 2 reduction. Was on 125mcg now on 75mcgs

Imo the first reduction was not needed. I personslly think your levels are not optimal and your t3 and t4 coukd be higher. Your gp should be looking for other issues that were causinf your original symptoms.

Not what you're looking for?
