Depends what for. Dr Toft is a traditionalist, but his book has a useful section on how much T4 is needed, and he was president of the British Thyroid Association, so his book is best for showing to your GP. Personally, if you want to learn for yourself, DR BDP's book is more useful, but your GP won't accept it, as Dr BDP gave up his certification (or whatever doctors have) and is not allowed to practice as a GP, which makes him immediately suspect to the NHS.
