Graves - mix of symptoms

I have Graves and Im on 2.5mg of Carbimazole. I seem to have a mix of hypo and hyper symptoms, anyone else have this and what causes it?

Hi Silver Fairy - Have you got any blood test results you can share and maybe what symptoms you have?? To be honest there does seem to be a mix of symptoms....lose weight gain weight hot cold spells etc etc.....because you are Hyper your thyorid is in overtime mode, you are on quite a low dose of carbimazole. though?? Make sure you have regular blood tests and keep a note of symptoms so when you see your GP or Endo you take these along, it is amazing how much you can forget to say. I actually took a friend on my first visit and got her to take notes for me also gave her a list of questions I wanted anwering.....

Silver_Fairy, I always had a mix of symptoms. How long have you been on the carbimazole? I got worse towards the end of my year on it, felt rotten.

I am on 5mg of carbrimazole, what are your symptoms? I find mine get worse if I eat wheat or drink (alcohol) the latter makes my heart race so it's a massive cutting back for that. Stomach used to be bad in the morning but much better now I don't eat wheat. I chose, perhaps like you, to increase and decrease the carb according to blood results but I get them done every four to five weeks and make sure they don;t just do TSH but T4 and T3 as well... x
