Hi again, as previous question. Early days, scars etc take ages to heal. if still worried at your post op check, ask! I have some quite bad scars from OPs years ago even though they did improve after the OP, now there is more done for them but it is partly down to the OP and skin.More recently, I had a lump on my arm removed, deep. The consultant was worried about scarring as he "had to cobble it" as it had to be done as quickly as possible, for my safety. We were both amazed after 6 months, it is barely visible,

I found vitamin E oil was brilliant at healing my scar. Any health shop will sell it although some is a bit sticky and hard to spread. Mine is from Manor Grove and I think they have a website. My Tesco pharmacy has a display of all their products. Failing that, Bio Oil from any pharmacy is good. Hope it heals soon.
it is early days yet but it sounds like it might be a keloid scar. I had a Caesarian section almost 40 years ago, it was an emergency and goes straight down the middle, half of the scar looks like a normal thin line and the other half is wider, sort of puckered and shiny and feels numb and 'rubbery' to touch. Sounds grim when I write it down but it isn't as bad to look at as it sounds.
If that is what it is or even if it isn't try what Hennerton says because I've heard that works. I think you can also have an op to get rid of keloid scars but I always worried that if it had scarred like that once then it might do it again so I didn't bother to go down that line.
Hopefully it will all heal up nicely - take some vitamin C too - that helps healing.

Hi Greeneyes22,
Hope you are feeling a bit better. I have had many ops on my neck and have been prone to the old keloid scarring but over the years they have faded but have become part of me. In my experience be careful what you put on your skin...Bio oil has a load of preservatives in....choose something organic like vit E and avocado oil but wait until the wound is seeping or bleeding. Also eat healing foods with Vit E, garlic, ginger, turmeric, astragulus and propolis and ensure you have adequate omegas 3,6,9 etc....all the very best
