Well, you could seek help from your local CAB.

Try this site benefitsandwork.co.uk/

Good luck

As above. Try and find someone who can go with you. Contact one of the mental health charities and see if they have an advocate or if there is a local advocacy charity with someone who can accompany you.

Also get hold of any medical documentation you can. Perhaps your doctor can write a letter outlining your condition and how it affects you.

Are you getting help from Homestart? If not, see if you can get a referral. They are excellent although they do tend to have long waiting lists. They will be able to support you with your son to perhaps give you an hour or so to do the things that you don't have time to do with a little one.

I hope it goes well. Sometimes the appeals are far more successful than initial applications, particularly if you have the backing of the CAB.

Don't worry, when you go to appeal it is run by two people. The chairmain is normally a solicitor and a doctor who ask you the questions. They are totally seperate from Atos and DWP and they make up their own mind. My partner suffers from Diabetes, two slipped discs and severe kidney stone problems and we appealed against Atos's assessment of him last year as they gave him nil points and when we went to the appeal he was awarded the maximum points plus 6 extra points and went on ESA Support.

So do not fear them they are are trying to help you and get the facts rights. Just be clear and concise with them.

Have someone with you who actually know what you are facing and if they need more information they will ask that person.

Good luck xxx
