I also look as if I am pregnant. Is there a GP in Scotland that can help with my problem. My own GP does not know anything about thyroid the only thing is she keeps on sending me for blood test and to tell me everything is ok and I know I am not ok. Please help.

Hi

I am no expert but have you thought this may be Candida? If you look it up on the web there is loads of info about it.

I am sure some one more knowledgeable will be along shortly to help further.

I have the exact same problem and I have been wondering and researching about Candida. I also feel very very tired, exhausted especially after eating, nodding off to sleep in the chair, and waking up with a horrible taste in my mouth. My middle is bloated and I look and feel pregnant.

Have you tried going gluten free? Or it may be low acid which is very usual for hypothyroids. Some use vinegar with meals to aid with this. There is a test to see if you have low acid. Not sure of the details but before breakfast, drink some bicarbonate of soda in water and if you don't burp quickly, it may mean you have low acid. stopthethyroidmadness.com/s...

Thanks Yes I have tried gluten free for a couple of months and did not help my problem at all.

Thanks for this link. I will try the acid test as I have similar symptoms, have had some tests and tried gluten free and seem to be getting nowhere.

I had a big distended tummy and resolved it by giving up sugar and grain. Perhaps it is connected to candida as somebody already mentioned, I am not sure the exact reason it worked.

I agree with Fennel.I went to my GP with the same problem,he was no help.It came to the crunch one day. I had sp.k for breakfast and felt so bloated I couldn't eat anything for the rest of the day. After visit to GP I decided to give up wheat and most other grains, oats were a problem for me.I wont say I'm slim now but at least I'm less pregnant and feel so much more comfortable.
