I have no advice for you, but I have the same kind of problems, plus visual disturbances. I used to go to the chiropractor regularly which helped, but lately it no longer does anything useful.

I'll be reading the answers with interest!

BTW, what do you mean by 'scalloped tongue'? It describes mine perfectly (t's also geographic) but my dentist and I have always put it down to the fact that I had a lump removed from underneath it.

a scalloped tongue is a clinical symptom of hypo but GP's seem unaware of any clinical symptoms. This was posted the other day

I don't know what you mean by scalloped tongue either btu will google it and see.i have the tightness in neck and same electric shocks in fingers. my dr said its CTS-( a symptom of thyroid prob).i know I have thyroid prob but they wont recognize it.dr I saw today(notmy own)said i had no coating on my tongue and was probably iron deficient.i don't know why drs don't know where the thyroid gland is.

Have you recently been diagnosed with hypothyroidism. I note you say you have been on 75mcg of levothyroxine for 7 weeks but are still having problems.

They do sound like clinical symptoms. Can you get a print-out from your surgery of your latest thyroid gland blood test results and post them on a new question complete with the ranges and someone will comment upon them. If you have been recently diagnosed usually an increase is given about every 6 weeks till you feel much better. Did your GP say that you were now 'within range' and you would not have another 25mcg raised in levothyroxine?

It is a slow process I am afraid till you get to a level of thyroid gland hormone so that you feel well but it is possible with the help of a good GP.

Hello, What I picked up in particular from your question was "electric shocks". The other symptoms you describe are certainly symptoms associated with hypothyroidism, but we have to consider what has caused that thyroid problem. I think there are probably many causes of thyroid dysfunction, but my daughter's experience has been years and years of searching until we finally found the cause this year. We now know that mould biotoxins can cause multi-symptom, multi-system problems if an individual has a susceptible genetic make-up, and this was the case with her.

You may want to check these links and these posts I wrote earlier in the year:

The videos are well worth watching.

Let me know if I can send more information.

If you take your medication in the morning, don't take your medication until after your blood test as it can skew the results. Take it afterwards. If you take your meds at bedtime miss this dose and take after the blood tests.

I have the same scalloped tongue and I believe that its due to fluid retention - the tongue is swollen and therefore the teeth leave indentations on it - can't remember where I read that though.
