I have bunions arthritis in the small bones of my feet and constant pins and needles like pain in my feet. Are these connected to my hypothyroidism?

Can hypothyroidism cause foot problems?
Yes, i've got theses damn bunions. Acupuncturist says it's to do with meridians that get blocked with hypothyroidism.Pins and needles also can be a symptom.
Hi janjan, Thank you for your reply. I had reflexology a few weeks ago,the girl said her reiki was taking over so perhaps I should have reiki soon and see if that helps.xx
What practical advice for hypothyroid foot/toe/ankle troubles? My exercises are very slow-working.
Any response appreciated.
The most important thing is to ensure you have sufficient thyroid hormone. Without that, no amount of exercises will solve the problems.
If you can give some background about your thyroid diagnosis, current medication/s, blood test results etc. it might enable members to offer suggestions.
As red apple says. As far as I can work out we hypothyroid are also often carrying a little more weight ( or a lot in my case). This will put more pressure on the feet together with reduced muscle power (which is also common when you are hypo-less mitochondria apparently) and you will put more pressure on your ligaments in the foot which can become inflamed and cause pain. The pins and needles I don't really know what it is caused by, probably the t3 not reaching the cells properly. peripheral nerve problems are very common but if your thyroid levels improves your foot problems should also improve.
