hate this new site. why has something that was not broken been mended brenda
I'm just starting to get used to it now but do agree there are areas that just are not user friendly. I've fed back to the support team so I hope some of the parts that just aren't working correctly or are just plain difficult to find will be rectified. I don't like having to go into questions and blogs (posts) separately either - much preferred them side by side.
I havent been able to get on here for days, and struggling to find my way around
...me too ! Sometimes I can Reply to this - a I am doing now - but mostly they ask for me to sign in and then tell me it's invalid. Have not received any notifications either ! When you click onto a post you cannot use the back spacer to return to the list as before. Everything just takes so much more time.....glad I'm not the only one !
Ive not had any email notifications either, and istill cant find my way, i land up going out and back in just to get to the beginning list.
no one is seeing he blogs anymore. It is as if the computer says 4 replies no more. The notifications we had by email let us choose what we wanted to read now you give up searching so people are not getting the support they used to. Any one told them doing this that the members suffer from memory fog!¬
Email notifications should be back soon. See this blog for information.

It is incredibly frustrating. As admins, we rely quite heavily on our email notifications to make sure questions are being answered. Rest assured that those of us who are around this weekend will be around checking for new blogs and questions and answering as best we can. I was on all day yesterday to try and make sure people had at least one answer. There were several others doing the same when they were able too. We are doing our very best to make sure we can still provide the support that members need while HealthUnlocked are dealing with the issues with the new platform. Hopefully things will be sorted out very soon!

anyone know what the recommend button is for?
If someone give an excellent reply that you think may be of use to other people - as in the case of the lovely Carolyn above - you can click on 'Recommend'. It's like 'like' in Facebook.

Does anyone know why it was changed in the first place?
Would it be possible to put it back to how it was or have things gone too far for that?
I agree with the others that it was much better when you could see blogs and questions on the same page. The present arrangement just isn't very nice or easy to use.

Hi Liz
There was some functionality that we have been asking for such as 'pinned posts' and the ability to 'recommend' or like a post which were not possible on the old system. HU felt that it would be a good time to have a total overhaul - there has been one before, so this is actually the 3rd generation of the site.
A lot of the new features were apparently in response to feedback from members.
No chance of putting it back, I'm afraid.... the best thing I can suggest is for people to give their feedback about aspects of the site they are not happy with.

Thanks Louise
I'm sure it will be fine in the end. I mean it is getting better all the time a few days ago I couldn't even get onto the site and I have just this minute seen the little diagonal lines hellvella was talking about to click and drag to enlarge the reply box. I definitely couldn't see then when I looked for them before - although maybe that was because I have moved from my iPad to using Google Chrome.
Hopefully it will all be fixed up soon,
Liz xx
What little diagonal lines, please? Hunted high and low, and sideways, still can't see them. I can only see the scroll up or down chevrons at the right. My brain fog must be a real pea-souper.
You see a group of dots in a sort of arrow formation at bottom right when using Firefox. In Safari on a Mac they are a few diagonal lines in the bottom right. In Internet Explorer you do not get the ability to resize the box at all - so no arrow nor diagonal lines.
Not your brains. Your browser!

I'm getting a tad miffed with several areas. One being the constant need to have to re-login, the other that it won't load the page when I want to view all questions/posts rather than seperating them into sections.
It feels a little more complex than the prvious setup, which I'm sure we'll adjust to, but right now, feels like hard work. (Don't think that makes me slow or stupid, I completed a degree a few years ago with only 1 GCSE under my belt (I now have 3), a part time job and two kids to raise single handed.) When you're ill/suffering, everything is harder.
I agree, it isn't as intuitive as the old version. Hopefully they will listen to us and make adjustments in the future
I don't for one minute think you are slow or stupid. There are many clever people on here who are finding this all hard work and it is definitely harder when you are not well. Congrats on the degree
Jorge, Your Spanish roots are showing - mucho more useful? !!
Thank you for the explanation, we are not aware of what is going on out of sight, we appreciate the work put in to develop the new platform, but it is frustrating for people who are searching desperately for help when there seems to be nowhere else to turn. We look forward to when it is running smoothly and I am sure that everyone will appreciate it more.
Are you having the same problems with everyone who use sites linked to HU or is it just us at TUK who are having problems?
Liz
Liz, they are having problems on the other communities too
I'm afraid I can't be bothered to go through the whole laborious process everytime now.
Whereas before with just one click everything was there!
Hopefully it will be fixed soon. This weekend has been hard work trying to answer everyone's questions when you have so many more clicks to get to where you want and when you have to keep logging in every five minutes (or whatever it is). Hopefully they'll sort out a lot of it tomorrow!
