Not sure where to go from here. Any help and advice with blood results will be greatly appreciated.

I asked my GP if I could have my Thyroid bloods taken, it had been just over 6 month since the last one and my conditions and symptoms are getting worse, to the point I am can not get out of the house unless it is a very warm day and I still can not go far due to lack of energy, pain and brain fog. Last year I was diagnosed with M.E and Fibromyalgia but I am now not convinced its either of these, so I asked for my Thyroid bloods to be taken, the GP was not really happy, but said he would do them but I would have to wait a year next time.

I have just rang for my results and they are as follows including the last two results :-

February 2012...125mcg Levothyroxine

FTriiodothyronine:- 3.48 range (3.6-6.5)

FT4 :- 11.6 range (9.0 – 19.1)

TSH:- 8.5 range (0.35 – 4.94)

(Thyroxine was reduced to 100mcg)

November 2012... 100mcg Levothyroxine

FT4:- 13.4 range (9.0 – 19.1)

TSH:- 4.7 range (0.35 – 4.94)

June 2013...100mcg Levothyroxine

FT4:- 14.7 range (9.0 – 19.1)

TSH:- 0.59 range (0.35 – 4.94)

I have tried to read up on all information provided from here, Thyroid UK and other web sites but I get confused by it all. I have graves and wondered could it be this or are the consultants right and it is M.E and Fybro. I’m lost :(

Why after over a year on 100mcg of Levothyroxine are my results changing in between the 6 months bloods when I am still on the 100mcg, which I take in the morning with water, at least an hour before anything else.

My GP has asked for T3 test but the laboratory will not do them and they wont do full bloods as they say they say this was done Feb 2011 and all was normal. I do not have the finance to go private unfortunately.

I am not usually a person who finds it hard to understand things, is this part of the condition whatever it is, or am I just going mad and falling apart.

Can anyone see something my muddled, foggy brain can not.

Thank you for any help or advice given :)

Someone who has Graves will probably comment but this is a link re fibromyalgia for your information:-

ME, fibro and chronic fatigue were named sometime after the TSH blood test came into being the diagnosis for thyroid gland problems.

Do you mean you did have Graves in the past ? and are now Hypo ?

If you have Graves now you wouldn't be taking Levo unless you are on block and replace treatment so taking Carb as well.

Assuming you are now Hypo your latest results look ok, some may want their FT4 to be higher but you are well in range.

The Feb 12 results are odd as your TSH was over the top of the range so why did the doc reduce your Levo dose ? but Nov 12 results show they are getting better. Did you alter the way you were taking the Levo then as that may be why the results are a bit odd then but better now.

This is part of what confuses me as I thought after I had my total thyroidectomy the Graves would go, but I have read that this condition never goes and the total thyroidectomy only helps manage the condition. I must admit I still can get the bulging eyes even when my bloods are reading my levels are normal.

I have taken my Levo in the morning since my operation, except for a period 2 years ago when the doctor thought I would feel better taking at night, but it only made me feel worse.

Thank you for your replies.
