Hi jcssar - Your high TSH is indicating that you are very hypothyroid. I assume that you have been prescribed thyroxine - is that correct? If so what dosage have they started you on? Did they test your free T4 as well - if so please could you post that result as well please?

Thyroxine isn't really a medicine, it is a replacement hormone for something that your body was making itself, but no longer is. There is very little risk, so long as you are taking an appropriate dose. Some people do experience symptoms when they start on it, as the body has to get used to having something again that it has had to do with out.

I hope that helps a bit.
