This web interview is 46 minutes, not too long :), and in my opinion interestingly informative and easy to understand.

I am not sure how time sensitive it is, so listen sooner rather than later....... ENJOY!!!!!

Well found NaamiSue, I have just listened to bits for now, will listen to the rest later.

I would be interested to hear what Dr Alyssa Burns-Hill thinks about the discussion too.

Yes it would be interesting to know what her thoughts are..... The information certainly makes sense of why thyroid imbalance is on the INCREASE!!!!!

Thank you for posting this. Am half-way through and will tune in tomorrow.

Glad you enjoyed it, I did too :) I'm not sure how I came across it, somehow fell into my google chrome LOL!!!!......had to leave my laptop on for more than a week before I got round to listening.....Didn't dare switch it off as I would have forgotten about it....so pleased I opted to leave the laptop running :) xxx

Have now watched it all and must say that it's refreshing to come across something that is easy to follow for the layperson to understand. Both doctors were keen to be seen as 'mainstream' so no wacky ideas were spouted!

I do wonder though how those two doctors are viewed by conventional doctors in the USA. Would be interested to read Dr Gottfried's book, in fact I would love to be able to make an appointment to see her!

Do hope to see more of their vids!

Dr Sara Gottfried is an Harvard trained Obstetrician and Gynea......through her own experience about 10 years ago she has focused on how to balance hormones...she had to do it for herself, after her personal family doctor suggested that she need prozac!!!!!

I listen to a lot of free teleseminars and this one 'FELL' into my inbox!!!!! On the same site there is a 7 minute video with Dr Hyla Cass, also very good.....

They are all main stream qualified Medics who have chosen to practise Functional/Integrative Medicine....it all helps to piece together the complex puzzle, HOWEVER, the common factor is the food we eat and more appropriately DO NOT EAT!!!!!!!!!! Food is more messed about with than we chose to believe....very sad :(

Yes, I do feel that you're right. I went g-f but didn't actually feel any better so dropped off the wagon and now noticeably feel worse!!

You're a knowledgeable lady so do you know anything about probiotics, ie are they all equal or how does one know what to go for? It was mentioned in the vid, as was mercury testing which does interest me.

How are you doing these days? It's nice to see you posting again!

Hi Cinnamon_girl,

From my own experience GF has to be TOTAL, 100% and it is ongoing. The fact that you feel worse now you are eating it again says to me it is a problem for you. Perhaps the reason you didn't feel better is that there are other intolerances..... It is a real game, but so worthwhile when you get to the bottom of it.

My energy improved within days of eliminating dairy and wheat/gluten, it has taken 5 1/2 months for my digestive system to get to a level of normality!!!!! My issue was constipation which had been worsening throughout 2012 and the end of 2011.

I am almost 4 weeks into using SYMPROVE which I chanced upon on the Nutri Centre web site. It creates the good bacteria inside the Gut rather than putting it there. I think it is being beneficial but need a little more time to truly evaluate....there are videos of trials done at Kings College Hospital on the NutriCentre web site and a lot of info on symprove.com

I don't really know a lot about probiotics other than I do believe they are essential in some form. In an ideal world fermented foods and Keffir are the way to go (in my opinion). The more I hear and learn the more I feel this illness and many others are down to TOXICITY!!! So our job as guardians of our being is to clean it all out!!!!!! Eat and drink as pure as possible, remove as many environmental toxins as possible and think and act as loving and kindly as possible, emotional toxicity is one of the worst!!!!!! ..... It is a tall order but taken one step at a time very possible :)

I am doing well, not 100% yet but getting there :) Still some food intolerances and I am not so good if I have to get up much before 9am, potential adrenal....is the adrenal due to residual toxicity plus I still do not sleep well (13 years now LOL) Little by little I am getting there and I am so grateful that I no longer have to have day time sleep, other than the times I inadvertently contaminate myself, the tiniest amounts have a massive impact!!!!!!!

Much Love,

Sue xxx

Thank you, interesting info. It's a long haul then!

Definitely will buy some probiotics, just using up the 'rubbish' food now, lol.

I'm re-reading an old book written by John Humphrys, the broadcaster, and it's to do with what we're doing to our food and our health. Even just reading the chapter about soil makes me angry that so little attention has been paid to the consequences. Maximise profit, that's all.

Sorry to hear that you've not quite cracked it but you've obviously done a terrific job in getting this far. Sleep deprivation is miserable but I guess some are just prone to it.

Please keep us updated!

Yes what is being done to our food is beyond belief!!! Without the soil deprivation the chemicals added beggar belief.........

Absolutely right NaamSue.

I have cut as much as possible processed food and food that is 'tampered with' -actually it is really difficult. I have had to accept that all I can do is minimise the tampering by eat fresh food (although fresh is tampered with in a way that we wouldn't believe!) aiming for organic as much as is possible -am guessing you have all noticed the difference in meat -such as portions of organic chicken to non organic chicken. Wheat and grains have been allowed to be messed around so much that I avoid them as much as is possible. I do have dairy -but straightforward dairy - organic milk and hard cheese. I want to start eating Keffir when I can source and get myself going with making it as ma sure it would be really beneficial and i hear very good things about it. I have added in extra vitamins and minerals because the loss of minerals and vits in our fresh food is staggering in comparison to 40 years ago.

Since making these changes i have lost nearly 3 stone and over 10" of my waist. I feel better and have more energy.

It is shocking the way food manufacturers are 'legally' allowed to mess around with our food to the degree that they do. if the government is truly interested in our health you would think they would tackle this rampant problem which i am sure is costing our nation it's health and consequent increased medical bills.

All this and i haven't yet had time to watch the link yet -but I will! :)

Thanks x

It is worth watching as it explains the 'role' of toxins, which is very interesting and makes immense sense to me........

I do think diet is the biggest key........ My opinion and experience..... I know others probably disagree.....

Nice to hear from you Wavy :)

Thanks NaamiSue -great link :) and good to be in touch!

It is worrying that we are surrounded by so many polutants.

I will stop blaming my self over the weight issue that follows me since developing a thyroid problem. However stopping blaming myself does not mean inaction over trying to manage it! But it's good to stop feeling guilty!

I have indeed noticed that after dieting and loosing weight over a period of time there is a great urge to eatmore....I had not linked that with toxins -interesting.

I wish I could avoid my car -but I drive as part of earning my living...... :( lol
